Sean Renaud: Named New Head Pro at Gulf Shores Golf Club

by | Apr 5, 2025 | News

Gulf Shores (AL) Golf Club has named Sean Renaud, a third-generation golf professional, its new head professional.

A 1997 graduate of Mississippi State University, Renaud was elected to the PGA in 1999. His career took him to Newnan, GA., in 2000, where he served as the Head Golf Professional at Newnan Country Club. He then spent 13 years as the Head Golf Professional at White Oak Golf Club, also in Newnan, GA, before assuming his current role at Gulf Shores Golf Club.

“We are thrilled to have Sean overseeing the golf operations in Gulf Shores,” said Tim Dunlap, owner of Gulf Shores Golf Club and founder of Regent Golf. “A place like Gulf Shores Golf Club deserves a quality professional with a lot of industry experience and knowledge. Sean brings that. He is a terrific addition to our dynamic staff.”

“This was the perfect move for me,’’ Renaud said, “Gulf Shores is a wonderful community, and the club has more potential than any I’ve seen in a long time. I just hope the people who live in the area, and those who come to visit, will come out and enjoy themselves. We’re here to provide a quality golf experience.”

The oldest golf course in the popular Baldwin County resort town, Gulf Shores Golf Club, dates to 1964 when it was called Gulf Shores Country Club.

Dunlap, who also owns The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, SC., acquired Gulf Shores GC this past January from the family of the late Larry Tomlinson, Jr. of Fairhope, AL
