Resort Development Partners Announces Acquisition of Virginia’s Beacon Hill Golf Club
Resort Development Partners has acquired Loudoun County’s Beacon Hill Golf Club. Hall of Fame golfer Johnny Miller originally designed the former Golf Club of Virginia that opened in 2001 near Leesburg.
Resort Development Partners has acquired Loudoun County’s esteemed Beacon Hill Golf Club, formerly known as Golf Club of Virginia; the course was originally designed by Hall of Fame golfer Johnny Miller in 2001. The private facility closed in 2006 due to financial difficulties and has languished as a neglected and overgrown site needing restoration.
Resort Development Partners has signed a contract with the Beacon Hill Community Association to revitalize the 27-hole golf course and reopen it in 2024 under the name The Preserve at Beacon Hill. The plan entails reducing the golf course to 18 holes and introducing a 9-hole family course, a modern clubhouse, and a future golf practice and improvement center.
“Our sleeves are rolled up, and work begins immediately to transform this property into an extraordinary golf experience commensurate with the beauty and prestige of the community,” said Frank Denniston, Resort Development Partners co-founder and managing partner.
Beacon Hill residents are pleased that golf will return to their community. Beacon Hill Community Association president Sid Rudolph said, “The commitment and support to reinstate golf have led to this opportunity to finally fulfill the promise that Beacon Hill was founded upon more than 20 years ago.”
