Boca West Country Club President/COO Matthew Linderman has one word to describe play on the club’s four golf courses: “Full.’’
“We’re working with Club Car to get another 35 golf cars,’’ Linderman said. “We already have a fleet of 250 golf cars – and in a community with members who already have their own golf cars.”
Each of the four courses (two designed by Arnold Palmer and one each by Pete Dye and Jim Fazio), Linderman said, are busy all day long.
“We even have tee times that go into the late afternoons.’’
Located on the west side of Boca Raton, FL., Boca West is one of the country’s more prestigious private golf and club communities, with 6,000 residents and 1,900 golf members. Three hundred of those golf members, Linderman said, joined in the final three months of 2021, as golf continues to thrive in a world of Covid.
“We have aggressive nine-hole leagues and ladies’ leagues,” Linderman said. “League play is through the roof. What’s great is, of those 300 new golfers, a lot of them are women. Pam Elders, our director of instruction, has a huge following. She has all these ladies that she has introduced to each other.
“All of a sudden, these ladies who never know each other now have forged relationships and friendships. It’s just fantastic.’’
