Daytona Beach Regency

Summertime in Florida ….  when you live here, where do you go for a short vacation? Especially when you don’t want to drive very far to get there.

That was the question facing my wife and me when we needed a quick getaway for a long weekend.  We decided to head to The World’s Most Famous Beach, Daytona Beach! We wanted more than a hotel room, we wanted some space to live in. Hotel rooms are great but they just don’t give you space to relax and spread out in your room.

After a quick search of where to stay,  we decided on Diamond Resorts, Daytona Beach Regency and booked a one-bedroom apartment for the same price as most hotel rooms.

For most people in the golf world, when they hear Diamond Resorts, they immediately think about The Tournament of Champions Golf Tournament, hosted by Diamond Resorts. However, the name should tell you that the Resorts came first. Diamond is all about resorts and just happens to host an incredibly successful golf tournament once a year.

We arrived at the resort around 6pm and breezed thru check-in. The majority of the check-in time was spent at the concierge desk where we were overloaded with information about things to do, place to go, activities at the resort and discounts for nearby restaurants. We were even assured that if there was anything we needed or anything we couldn’t remember just come back by the concierge, they would be there 7 days a week.

Our room was on the tenth floor and while we weren’t fortunate enough to get an ocean front room, we did have two balconies with ocean views. Remember, this isn’t your normal hotel room resort –  it’s a Diamond Resort. In addition to our balconies,  our apartment consisted of a large living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, over-sized bathroom with a very large bathtub and a bedroom with a king-sized bed. Two flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi meant I was going to get the escape I was looking for and I hadn’t even seen the beach or pool yet.

The resort is located just steps from the ocean…Step out the back door and walk past the beachside pool and Tiki Bar and you are on the beach. Just a short walk from the Daytona Beach Boardwalk and Pier, featuring the Ocean Walk Shoppes and the Daytona Beach Bandshell.

We spent the majority of our time walking on the beach and relaxing by the pool. It was summertime and the resort was plenty busy, but we never had any difficulty locating lounge chairs under an umbrella by the pool.

Diamond Resorts offers destinations, events and experiences to help you break away from your routine. From unforgettable getaways to exclusive concert series to VIP receptions and dinners, you can count on Diamond to help you recharge, reconnect and remind each other what matters most. The focus on quality resorts and customer service is obvious from the moment you step inside.

Some things exist just to make life a little easier, and Daytona Beach Regency, definitely falls into that category. Whether you’re looking for a place to stay on the beach all day with all the beach activities or you just want to hang out at the relaxing beachside pool this is the place to come. If you get tired of the beach,  you can always walk across the street and enjoy the Daytona Lagoon Water Park or take a tour of Daytona International Speedway. You just might need a vacation after your vacation, we did!

From now on vacations will become Diamond Vacations.

About the Tournament

It’s back – and bigger than ever. The Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions Presented by Insurance Office of America is one of the most unique events on the LPGA Tour, bringing together some of the world’s top professional women golfers to play alongside a roster of world-class sports and entertainment celebrities.

As an official LPGA event, the tournament features only LPGA winners from the previous two seasons competing for $1.2 million in official prize money. While the LPGA pros play 72 holes of stroke play with no cut, they’re joined on the course by up to 50 sports and entertainment celebrities competing for their own $500,000 purse using a modified Stableford format. A group of amateur golfers, who qualify during the event’s pro-am, also play alongside the stars during official tournament rounds.

All four days of play are nationally televised, with Thursday and Friday on Golf Channel, and Saturday and Sunday on NBC. But nothing beats catching the competition live at Tranquilo Golf Course at Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando. A range of ticket options are available for fans to purchase, and interested sponsors have the opportunity to tailor packages based on business needs. With private evening concerts, a world-class field of players, and unforgettable action, you don’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind event.
