GrayBull Club, one of the more anticipated golf courses of the past two years, has officially opened in Maxwell, NE. Designed by David McLay Kidd, GrayBull is the newest club in the expanding Dormie Network portfolio.
GrayBull is accessible only to Dormie Network members and guests and is built on the largest sand dune formations in the Western Hemisphere.
“Leveraging the years of experience we have as a network, combined with insights into member usage and the expertise of David McLay Kidd,’’ said Dormie Network President Zach Peed. “GrayBull was built to deliver an unparalleled blend of genuine hospitality and pure golf.’’
GrayBull is Dormie Network’s bespoke ground-up build and the first McLay Kidd design in the state. DMK and Dormie Network hand-selected nearly 2,000 acres of land to create an unmatched course landscape.
“The site is extremely unique. It’s like nothing I have ever seen before,” said Kidd.
Course construction began in June 2022 with strategic play in mind. Landing areas and multiple tee boxes offer an enjoyable challenge. The course was completed in August 2024 and measures up to 7,181 yards. Tee times are spaced at least 15 minutes apart to ensure a relaxed pace of play and excellent turf conditions.
The golf at GrayBull is just one component of GrayBull’s all-inclusive model. The stay-and-play experience includes luxury on-site lodging that meets the Dormie Network standard of 60 beds on-site. There are 13 Executive Cottages and two Owners Cottages, each of which includes four master suites and common spaces for entertainment. A limited number of cottages opened in August 2024; the remaining cottage construction will be finished in early 2025.
Designed by Sinclaire Hille, the Clubhouse is the heart of the club. It features a menu highlighting Nebraska’s agricultural heritage, a wrap-around patio, an expansive fire pit, and a fully stocked Golf Shop with top equipment, notable brands, hand-picked logoed apparel, and accessories. Next to the Clubhouse is the Party Barn, where members can book private dinners, meetings, and gatherings.
