Bobby Jones Links Selected to Manage Indian River Preserve Golf Club

Atlanta-based Bobby Jones Links will manage Indian River Preserve Golf Club. The daily fee 18-hole golf course in Mims, Florida, is the company’s fifth club management addition this year.

Bobby Jones Links, Business Development President, Doug Hellman, said, “We’re excited to hit the ground running with the newest addition to the Bobby Jones Links family. We see the potential to make a great club even better by leveraging our expertise to help build a strong leadership team, improve course conditions, and position the golf course as a must-play in the Space Coast market.”

Unquestionably a critical point in the selection process was a commitment to the environment. Indian River Preserve’s Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary designation must be maintained.  Bobby Jones Links’ demonstrated environmental stewardship on and off the golf course assures this designation will be held.

Management Goals

Bobby Jones Links was explicitly selected to restore the club’s stature, particularly by focusing on improving the customer experience on and off the course.

Outreach to the growing community surrounding the golf course will also be a critical part of the sales and marketing efforts.

Additionally, Bobby Jones Links will hire a leadership team qualified to continue the upward mobility of the club, including a general manager, golf professional, superintendent, and sales positions.

“Bobby Jones Links is the perfect option to help us enhance our golf course, brand awareness, and overall performance,” said Dale Lyon, owner’s representative of the club. “I’m confident they’re the right management company to help us implement the changes and improvements we’ve envisioned to make us the premier golf club in the area.”

Previously known as Walkabout Golf Club, the Perry Dye and LPGA Champ Jan Stephenson designed course stretches from 4,873 to 7,146 yards. It provides golfers of all abilities plenty of challenges navigating strategically bunkered fairways and contoured putting greens surrounded by serene lakes, nature preserves, and wildlife. The 22,000 sq. ft. clubhouse has multiple dining areas, including a casual grill, a terrace overlooking the 18th green, and a 250-seat banquet facility with expansive golf course views.
