Seven World Golf Hall of Fame Members to Tee it Up at Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai

Seven members of the World Golf Hall of Fame have committed to the season-opening 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, which will be contested January 18-20 on the Island of Hawaii.

“Every year, the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai features an amazing field of players, enhanced by the decorated members from the World Golf Hall of Fame,” said Tournament Manager Kelly Fliear. “This year, we look forward to hosting seven Hall of Famers and continuing the tradition of showcasing legends of the game at this scenic venue.”

Three-time champion Bernhard Langer (2009, 2014, 2017) will make his 17th appearance at Hualalai in 2024. The 66-year-old owns the record for most career wins on PGA TOUR Champions after capturing his 45th and 46th wins last year.

Langer is one of three Hall of Famers in the 2024 field who have made ten or more starts at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship. Mark O’Meara returns to Hualalai for the 15th consecutive year in 2024. Fred Couples, who will make his 14th appearance, is a four-time runner-up (2010, 2014, 2017, 2020) at this event.

Vijay Singh, who won last year’s Ally Challenge presented by McLaren, is set to make his eighth showing at Hualalai. Singh’s 2023 triumph at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club was his first victory as PGA TOUR Champions since 2018.

Colin Montgomerie is playing in the event for the ninth time. Montgomerie finished 28th in the 2023 Charles Schwab Cup standings, which marked his 10th consecutive year finishing in the Top 36 in the final standings.

A pair of Hall of Famers will each be making their fifth appearance at Hualalai in 2024: Davis Love III, making his first start at the event since 2021, and Ernie Els.

A total of 27 members of the World Golf Hall of Fame have competed in the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai since 1997. In addition to Langer, Hale Irwin (1997, 2007), Larry Nelson (2001), and Tom Kite (2002) are the other Hall of Famers who have won at Hualalai.

All three rounds of the 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai will be televised live on GOLF Channel, January 18-20. Player commitments and other tournament news for the 2024 event will be released in the coming weeks. For more information on the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, please visit
