The Jamaica Open
For the 5th consecutive year, Tyrall Golf Club will host top golfers for the three-day, 54-hole tournament featuring participants from the Caribbean, north and central America, and Europe.
Golfers will compete across four categories:
- Professional
- Senior Professional
- Amateur
- Senior Amateur
All will compete in the stroke play format of 18 holes per day.
Technically challenging and aesthetically pleasing, Tryall is one of the finest golf courses in the Caribbean. Located on the pristine north coast of Jamaica, 14.4 miles from the tourism mecca of Montego Bay, the 18-hole, 6836-yard course is the work of celebrated designer Ralph Plummer, who created something amazing. It features undulating terrain with strategically placed bunkers, rolling fairways, and demanding greens.
The 2023 Jamaica Open is presented in partnership with the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), Jamaica Golf Association, the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF), Digicel Business Jamaica, and the presenting sponsor, the luxurious Aqua Bay Resort.
Jamaica was introduced to international golf with the first staging of this event in 1953 at the Constant Spring Golf Club. The 2023 staging of the Jamaica Open promises to be a stellar event at the picturesque Tryall Golf Club, home of the 1992 Johnny Walker Championship.
The golf course provides spectacular ocean and sunset views; the event itself was created to showcase Jamaica as the Caribbean #1 sports tourism destination.
The winner of the pro category will receive the ‘Jamaica Open Trophy’ and Twenty Thousand US Dollars (US$20,000). The winner of the amateur categories will receive Crystal trophies and be afforded the ability to gain ranking points on the international stage.
