Viktor Hovland Signs Shoe Deal with Puma Golf

by | Apr 12, 2024 | News

Puma Golf has signed Viktor Hovland to an exclusive shoe-only agreement. The Norwegian star has been wearing Puma’s Ignite Articulate model for over a year.

“I started wearing PUMA shoes because I really liked the style and comfort,” said Hovland, who was one-under-par going into today’s second round of the Masters. “Shoes are critical for me because I use my feet to read greens. I’ve worked closely with the PUMA team to build shoes that perform well with AimPoint and are very comfortable.”

According to the Official World Golf Rankings, Hovland is currently the 6th-ranked player in the world. A true testament to his talent, Hovland emerged as a standout at Oklahoma State, winning the 2018 U.S. Amateur and reaching number one in the Amateur Golf Ranking in 2019. That same year, he showcased his prowess by finishing as the low amateur in the Masters and the US Open. Since turning professional after the ’19 US Open, Hovland has continued to shine, winning six PGA Tour events, including the ’23 Tour Championship, and two European Tour events, including the ’23 BMW Championship. Hovland’s back-to-back Hero World Challenge titles in ’21 and ’22 further solidify his status as a golfing legend in the making.

“We are extremely happy to welcome Viktor to the Puma Golf family,” said Dan Ladd, president of Cobra Puma Golf. “He’s one of the most talented and charismatic young players in the game and we look forward to a long relationship. Shoes are very important to Viktor because he uses his feet to read greens. We have built him shoes that work for AimPoint, but also look and feel great on the course.”
