Walt Disney Golf unveiled a new Grumpy statue Friday that marks the entryway of the recently redesigned four holes on Disney’s Magnolia golf course, affectionately known as “Grumpy’s Gauntlet.’’
The cranky but lovable character statue from the classic Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs resides next to the tee box on No. 14, the first of the four holes that include No.15, No.16 and No.17, a furious stretch of finishing holes that provide a fun but daunting challenge even for the most experienced golfers.
Grumpy’s golf bag also includes a seven-iron to honor all the dwarfs and a replicated golf ball, including the dimple pattern from 1937, when the Snow White movie was released.
The statue, which stands about six feet tall and is crafted from Carrara marble by Walt Disney Imagineering using an AI-powered stone-carving robot, depicts Grumpy with his signature scowl atop a rock and includes his well-known line from the movie: “Mark my words, there’s trouble a-brewin’!’’
It’s sure to quickly become a popular photo op location for golfers on the back nine.
The course also recently began offering “Grumpy’s Gauntlet’’ merchandise in the Magnolia pro shop, including branded shirts, hats and a variety of other golf-related accessories and collectibles.
The Grumpy statue and merchandise are all part of the latest enhancements to the course, which has a rich history that includes some of the biggest names in professional golf who have walked its fairways and greens, and builds on the whimsical Disney storytelling that is visible throughout the course.
Operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management since 2011, Walt Disney World Golf is recognized by the National Golf Course Owners Association as the 2026 Resort Course of the Year and Disney’s Magnolia is the headline act.
Right next door, Disney’s Palm Golf Course offers a slightly shorter but equally strategic round.
For a more relaxed pace, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course delivers a scenic, layout that has also hosted big events over the years. It’s currently closed for renovations and is expected to reopen later this year. The pro shop remains open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
If time is tight—or if you’re playing with family—Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is the go-to option. This 9-hole, walking-only course is ideal for quicker rounds and skill-building. It’s also part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, so expect to see local wildlife as you play.
Oak Trail adds a fun twist with FootGolf several afternoons a week. It’s a hybrid of soccer and golf where players kick a ball into oversized holes. It’s casual, fast-paced, and surprisingly competitive—especially for groups.
Golfers won’t want to leave until they’ve claimed some bragging rights on “The Greatest Green Ever Played.” Launched in 2024, it’s an 18-hole putting course that is open to all guests! This putters paradise pays homage to the famed U.S. Open success of the amateur Francis Ouimet in 1913, as documented by Walt Disney Pictures in the award-winning movie, “ The Greatest Game Ever Played” (2005).
In a destination built on imagination, golf might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But for those who tee it up here, it becomes clear: the magic is also found on what’s come to be known as “The Happiest Place on Turf!”
