Like most golfers, I always seek ways to improve my game. I especially love trying new equipment and gadgets that promise to help my cause.
Will your driver make my ball sail like Nelly’s? Bring it.
Got a training club that will teach me how to hit the sweet spot instead of the head or the toe? I’m in.
My husband says I’m every marketer’s dream.
So, when I heard that Popticals eyewear had collaborated with optics industry leader Carl Zeiss Vision to create NYDEF® Popticals golf sunglasses, especially for golfers, my attention was piqued.
I headed to their website and learned that NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses could help me “MAKE MORE PUTTS AND FIND MORE BALLS.”
It’s like they knew exactly what I needed. Could sunglasses be the magic bullet I’ve been needing to take my game to the next level? Tell me more.
As it turns out, Popticals and Zeiss vision use scientifically designed Violet and Purple lenses that reduce over saturation of the color green. This improves visibility of critical details on the putting surface and in-flight ball tracking.
In addition, the NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses are “Trusted by the PuttDoctor…”
Mic drop.
There’s a Putt Doctor? What’s a Putt Doctor, and does he take my insurance?
The Putt Doctor is Dr. Craig Farnsworth, a distinguished optometrist and putting coach who has worked with over 150 tour professionals (and not just any pros—two of the last four Masters Champions). Dr. Farnsworth highly recommends Popticals NYDEF Golf Sunglasses.
Why?
First, Popticals lenses offer 100% UV protection. This could be the sole reason to purchase these specs because, really, who wants to mess around with sub-par UV protection when it comes to their eyes?
Second, Dr. Farnsworth stressed the importance of properly fitting sunglasses: “Proper fit and proper protection lead to relaxed eyes, a relaxed game, and longer focus.”
The man had a point – is there anything worse than sunglasses that move with you or sunglasses that are too small? I really liked the idea of sunglasses that fit, and Dr. Farnsworth had me at “relaxed.”
Who doesn’t want to have a more relaxed game?
I decided to try the NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses for a test run on a nine-hole round near my house. I’d chosen the Popstorm, Gloss Black/White with purple lenses, for several reasons. First, the model looked slick with its white frame – not your standard black or tortoise frame.
Next, let’s talk about the durable and adorable case. It’s remarkably small (the glasses fold up, after all), had a hard shell to withstand the inevitable banging around that happens to and fro the golf course, and slid easily into my golf bag—three solid wins.
And last but not least… let’s dive into my experience wearing NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses.
Not to be dramatic, but it felt like I’d entered a new age in eye protection.
First, the foldable style was so cool, like nothing I’d ever seen. They quickly transition from open (ready to wear) to folded (ready to store) – a unique feature that no other sunglasses offer. (They reminded me of Transformers.) Best of all, the NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses fit like a glove – it was like I didn’t even know I was wearing them, so they weren’t a distraction.
But I know you’re waiting to know – did the NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses transform my game? Well, from the moment I put them on my face, things looked different. As I looked out from the tee box, the fairway, rough, and bunkers… all seemed to stand out a bit more. I felt in control of what I was hitting into. This knowledge gave me new confidence as I prepared to hit. My initial drive was fantastic. While obviously, the glasses didn’t power my shot; I do think the glasses lived up to the Putt Doctor’s claim that “relaxed eyes make a relaxed golfer.”
As my husband and I got in the cart to find our drives, I discovered that finding balls – even orange ones that tend to blend with fallen leaves on a September course- was easy! For the first time in the history of golfing with my husband, he was the one asking me to help him look for his ball. (I found it every time, something I 100% credit to the sunglasses!)
The glasses gave me a sense of power, knowing I’d be able to pick up on the course’s nuances and protect my eyes at the same time. It was clear that there was something magical about the lenses, which I’d read were “Tailored specifically for the golf course to offer golfers unparalleled visual protection.”
But what about the greens? Did these glasses help me finally get a handle on my short game? Let’s say they are a serious step in me feeling more confident on the green. My technique still needs Dr. Farnsworth’s assistance, but the fact that the lenses reduce green saturation made it easier for me to see what I’m up against.
Overall, my vision with the NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses was outstanding, and on the green and throughout the course, the glasses helped me see the terrain clearly, making me feel like I was the one in charge. In fact, my score has improved in the three times I’ve played wearing my new Popticals. Noticeably! And I haven’t lost a ball!
And one more thing… my Poptical love affair didn’t end on the golf course. I’m a runner, SUP fanatic, I walk whenever I get the chance, and basically live outdoors all year long. I now wear my NY DEF Sunglasses for all those activities. These glasses are perfect for many outdoor activities – fishing, skiing, shooting, and hunting. So whatever you do outside, you can do it better with these specs.
I agree with the Putt Doctor’s “orders” to consider NYDEF Popticals golf sunglasses. If you want eye protection that can actually help your game and protect your eye health… you’ll want to check out Popticals today.
