The Seagate Country Club has opened its front nine holes, making each of its renovated 18 holes available to guests of The Seagate Hotel and Seagate Country Club in Delray Beach, FL. The course, renovated J. Drew Rogers, is the newest course in golf-crazed Palm Beach County. The Seagate Golf Club opened its renovated back nine this past December.
Rogers’s portfolio includes working with legendary architect Arhrur Hills on 27 holes at nearby Addison Reserve in Delray Beach as project leader for the renovation of the Sunset Course at Mirasol CC in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Originally designed by Joe Lee, the course winds through 120 acres of Bimini Bermuda grass and tree-lined fairways. The facllity, just a few minutes west of the Seagate Hotel, also has a new practice facility.
“Our members are thrilled with the new course, which is both challenging and user-friendly,” said Alex Schnoeller, Managing Director of The Seagate. “We are now recognized as one of the best golf courses in the region and are thrilled to provide our members with this new, world-class experience.”
Seagate’s Director of Agronomy Alan Fike said, “Our architect carefully analyzed the course and designed the plans for the full renovation of our golf facilities. Throughout the renovation, I was on the course each day, ensuring that the myriad of intricate design details were executed according to plan. We know our members will be very pleased with the results.”
The Seagate also renovated its 41,064-square-foot golf clubhouse, which includes a dining room for lunch, brunch, and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating. The clubhouse also has a Grand Ballroom, Dining Room, Grille Room, and Courtyard. The clubhouse renovation included architectural finishes in the lobby, meeting rooms and event spaces, locker rooms, corridors, and outdoor patio.
In addition, the club’s Racquets Center offers programs that include tennis and pickleball.
The clubhouse also contains a new curated art collection displayed throughout, blending a mixture of painterly abstract pieces with vintage photos by Slim Aarons of Palm Beach and the surrounding area. In a relaxed nod to Hollywood regency glamour, the patio showcases marble dining tables and rattan furniture on the patio.
