Florida’s golfing landscape has just welcomed a new star. The Soleta Golf Club in Myakka City officially opened its doors on December 10, 2024. This Nick Price-designed course is already making waves in the golfing community and promises an unparalleled experience.
Price, a three-time major champion and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, is known for his strategic approach to golf course design and has created a course that emphasizes the land’s natural beauty. The course features native white sands, rolling hills, and water hazards designed to challenge golfers while preserving the environment.
The transformation of the former cattle ranch into a championship golf course is nothing short of miraculous. Price noted that the golf course has a natural and open feel, integrating sand and native areas. The course conditions are firm and fast, presenting golfers with various shot-making options. The result is a 7,415-yard, par-72 course that seamlessly blends into its natural surroundings.
A Vision Brought to Life
Managing Partner and developer David Turner said, “The private Soleta course project was completed in a remarkable 11 months, and the final product is outstanding. We knew that in selecting Nick as our designer, we’d get a stunning championship course that would be enjoyable to play for all members. Together with the 30-acre David Leadbetter signature practice facility and indoor performance center, we offer a golf experience unmatched by any club in the state or perhaps elsewhere.”
“It was an honor to design the golf course at Soleta,” said architect Price. “We were part of a great team and created a special place for golfers to play, spend time with friends and have fun. The property has wetlands, uplands, open grassland, and great trees. We laid out the golf course to take advantage of and incorporate those natural features into the design of the holes. Importantly, no wetlands were impacted or eliminated anywhere on the property. These natural elements all are part of what gives the golf course its natural look and feel.”
Unique Features That Set Soleta Golf Club Apart
Soleta Golf Club is distinguished by its remarkable design, commitment to environmental sustainability, and state-of-the-art design features. The course’s emphasis on preserving the environment is evident in its construction; over 2,000 trees were transplanted from other parts of the property, and the course was designed to have minimal impact on the surrounding wetlands. This dedication to sustainability enhances the course’s beauty and ensures that Soleta Golf Club is a responsible steward of the land.
Additionally, Soleta Golf Club offers various unique features that enhance the golfing experience.
- The 30-acre David Leadbetter signature practice facility and indoor performance center provide golfers with world-class training resources.
