Former University of Georgia Bulldogs Russell Henley and Harris English, along with two-time U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau, have qualified for the 2025 United States Ryder Cup Team. They join Major winners Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, and Xander Schauffele as the six automatic qualifiers emerging from the U.S. points system.
All American players earned points beginning last season and ending with Sunday’s BMW Championship, won by Scheffler.
U.S. Captain Keegan Bradley will announce his six Captain’s Picks to complete the 12-member U.S. Team on Wednesday, August 27.
This marks Scheffler’s third consecutive Ryder Cup. The World No. 1 holds a 2-2-3 career record from the 2021 Whistling Straits and 2023 Marco Simone competitions. Scheffler captured this year’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow by five shots, then secured his fourth career Major and second of the season at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in July. He also picked up his 18th career PGA TOUR win and fifth of the season at the BMW Sunday.
Schauffele also makes his third straight appearance, having competed in 2021 and 2023. He recorded a 3-1-0 mark at Whistling Straits, with an overall 4-4-0 Ryder Cup record. The nine-time PGA TOUR winner claimed two Majors in 2024: the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club and The Open Championship at Royal Troon.
Spaun, this year’s U.S. Open winner, is making his Ryder Cup debut at Bethpage Black, as is Henley, who won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.
This will be English’s second Ryder Cup appearance after going 1-2-0 with the 2021 U.S. squad at Whistling Straits. Earlier this year, he won in San Diego at the Farmers Insurance Open, tied for second at the PGA, and posted a runner-up finish at The Open.
DeChambeau returns for his third Ryder Cup following appearances in 2018 and 2021, before leaving the PGA TOUR and moving to LIV Golf.
Runner-up finishes at last year’s Masters and PGA Championship, his second U.S. Open trophy in 2024, and strong showings at three majors this year kept him atop the Ryder Cup standings.
The prestigious biennial competition will take place September 26-28 at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, on New York’s Long Island, with four-ball and foursome play until Sunday’s much-anticipated 12 singles matches.
