The PGA Tour’s 2026 Florida Swing is underway with the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, running through Sunday.
The venue is the Champion Course at PGA National Resort & Spa, and the field includes 56 PGA Tour winners with a total of 141 TOUR titles.
World No. 11 Ben Griffin, No. 25 Ryan Gerard, and No. 29 Shane Lowry join five-time Major winner Brooks Koepka, who is making his eighth start in this event.
“The golf course is in probably the best shape I’ve seen it, said Koepka, a West Palm native, who recently returned to the PGA Tour after his three-year LIV Golf experiment.
“Honestly, there’s probably more guys I’ve just had to introduce myself to, a lot of faces I don’t know,” Koepka added. “It’s good to see guys you haven’t played with in a while, too. But it’s been fun. It’s been enjoyable.”
Lowry, who lives nearby in Jupiter, has recorded three top-five finishes in his last four starts here, including a runner-up finish in 2022. He’s in the midst of five consecutive weeks on Tour.
“I think the fact I’m saying at home this week makes it easier. I get to drive to Bay Hill next week, so there’s no flights. I get to see my family. They get to come to Bay Hill and THE PLAYERS,” Lowry said. “I need to take advantage of the courses that I play well on and that I like playing. There’s certain times you just have to do it.”
Also in action are 14-time TOUR winner Adam Scott, who claimed this event a decade ago and finished solo 4th in last week’s Genesis Open at Riviera.
Defending champion Joe Highsmith returns to the course where he beat both Jacob Bridgeman and reigning U.S. Open winner J.J. Spaun by two strokes.
The Washington native became the 17th player to earn his first Tour title in this event, and the fifth in the last seven years. Five previous champions are also in the field, including Austin Eckroat (2024), Chris Kirk (2023), Keith Mitchell (2019), Camilo Villegas (2010), Matt Kuchar (2002), and Scott.
South Florida residents Luke Clanton, Eric Cole, Nick Dunlap, Taylor Pendrith, Neal Shipley, and Gary Woodland will enjoy a rare home game, with 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year Johnny Keefer also planning to tee it up
For over four decades, the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches has been a much-anticipated event on the schedule and within the South Florida community and a force for good, supporting over 50 area charities.
The PGA Tour remains in the Sunshine State for the next three weeks, featuring another signature event, the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by Mastercard, returning to Orlando’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge, March 5-8. Following that, the Tour’s flagship event, The PLAYERS Championship, will be held March 12-15. The stretch concludes with the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort, taking place March 19-22.
