TRUE footwear and apparel say their products are engineered to hold up to the great outdoors, something that should come as no surprise given that the company’s founder is none other than 5-time PGA TOUR winner, and Washington State native Ryan Moore
“We’re a small enough company that can pivot and adjust to make the best products. When you’re doing it at the scale of some other companies at times, it’s hard for them,” Moore said. “Our team approach is always let’s get it to where it needs to be, and let’s push that.” There are a couple of products you’re seeing on the wall now that we’ve had in the works for five years.”
“The wall” was at the PGA Show in Orlando earlier this year, and the TRUE footprint there was massive compared to its humble beginnings 16 years ago.
The professional golfers who chose to join Moore in wearing his shoes are impressive, including Andrew Putnam, Joel Dahmen, Chris Kirk, Mark Hubbard, Taylor Montgomery, Oliver Wilson, Dylan Wu, Christina Kim, Madelene Sagstrom, and Sophia Popov on the LPGA.

TRUE Shoes: LUX2 Maven Spikes
TRUE recently released a variety of breakthrough golf footwear offerings, including the first two spiked models since the company relaunched in 2017, the LUX2 Player and the LUX2 Maven.
While we have yet to try them out on the golf course, the spiked versions appear to stay true to the objective of relieving walking golfers from the burden of heavy, clunky cleats by offering innovative, light weight design.
The newest elevation of TRUE’s classic zero drop model, called the OG3 PRO, is also available with a diverse lineup of golf shoes designed for performance, style, sustainability, and comfort with a modern, minimalist aesthetic. The latter rings TRUE for me.
I first came to notice their stylish spikeless shoes while playing a round of golf with my good friend Don McManus, a member of Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge which hosts the PGA TOUR’s Arnold Palmer Invitational each year. Like me, he’s all about the comfort and quality. I complimented him on his choice and asked more about them.
What first caught my attention was that they looked good enough to wear off the course as well, and that rang true. I find myself ordering them online and wearing them walking theme parks or going out for the evening after my golf round, and that says a lot!
The lineup has really grown this year, added Brandon Wallach, TRUE’S VP of Marketing, “everything from vacay slides to spiked tour performance shoes. This is the widest and the deepest product offering, both in footwear and apparel that we’ve had since my arrival.”
Comfort and durability were key criteria components for this review, and the two products our team recently tested on and off the golf course, the TRUE LUX TOUR and TRUE OG TOUR met with great results. Even in soggy conditions, they exceeded our expectations.
“Our original lineup has always been our go-to for natural comfortable barefoot shoes. Those are all featured in the Zero Drop White Toe Box model. We’ve really dug into that in 2025 with the release of the OG Cush late last year,” added Wallach.
The PRO staff that TRUE has assembled is a huge asset according to co-founder and Ryan’s brother Jason Moore.
“Their ability to sense the nuances that are required to perform at the highest level is unprecedented, so it helps to astronomically fast-track our development,” added Jason who joined my conversation with Ryan. “They’ll notice if something’s off with tread, fit, or feel. I mean, we’d hand-deliver stuff to all of our tour staff. Whether it be Ryan, Chris, Joel, or any of them. They’ll tell us right away on the driving range.”
Think about it. Playing golf for a payday is their profession, so comfortable performance footwear is crucial to their success. That too is a product differentiator.
