Omni Hotels & Resorts, the official hotel partner of the PGA Tou and PGA of America, has announced a year-long celebration of golf, family, and competition with the introduction of The Generation Cup, a first-of-its-kind tournament series across its golf portfolio for players of all ages and skill levels.

The Generation Cup, a unique tournament series, is designed to foster camaraderie among golf-loving families, with generational ties as the key requirement for participation. In its inaugural year, this one-of-a-kind event will be hosted at each Omni golf resort, spanning a total of 12 events across the country from May 2024 through April 2025.

The tournament is open to all, with teams competing in three divisions: the “Grandparent & Grandchild” division, the “Parent & Childw” division, or Aunt / Uncle & Niece / Nephe, and the “PGA Professional & Family Member” division. The format is a two-person modified best ball “shamble.” The top gross and net teams from each division will advance to the National Championship.

“Golf has seen a surge of new interest in recent years, and at Omni, we believe there is no better way to celebrate the game than playing with your loved ones,” says Spencer Cody, Corporate Director of Club and Golf for Omni Hotels & Resorts. “The Generation Cup will not only offer opportunities for competition and fun in our communities, but it will be the perfect way to showcase the world-class portfolio of golf destinations Omni encompasses.”

The qualifying events are set to begin at Omni Interlocken in Broomfield, Colorado, on May 24, 2024, and will conclude at Omni Barton Creek in Austin on April 5, 2025. Qualifying teams from each stage will then meet at Omni PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas for the National Championship in May 2025. “At Omni, we love the game because it affords the opportunity to invest time in relationships and creates lifelong memories,” says Kurt Alexander, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “Rarely does anyone pick up the game without the encouragement of a father, mother, grandparent, uncle, aunt, or sibling. For me, it was my dad, and The Generation Cup will provide the same opportunity for family members to come together, have some fun, and compete as a team.”
